A narrow path leads hikers through dense ferns and beneath creaking oaks to an unassuming pool of water. This mythical spring is considered one of the most significant sacred sites in medieval literature and continues to attract countless seekers of truth to this day.
According to legend, the sky immediately darkened and a violent storm with lightning and thunder broke out.
It was considered a holy place and gateway to the other world. The rising water symbolized eternal life and constant renewal.
by this they mean the small bubbles that occasionally rise to the surface in the cold water of the spring.
