The hamlet is part of the Boucle de Magrie hiking route. The tour takes about five hours and requires sturdy footwear, as the trail runs over rough terrain and steep climbs.
The landscape is characterised by the 654-metre-high Pic de Brau. From this peak, hikers can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-capped mountain peaks of the Pyrenees in clear weather. The area around the mountain consists of dense forests and open rock formations typical of the Limouxin region.
the name of the dilapidated hamlet indicates its former use as a sheep farm. In the barren mountain landscape, livestock farming was one of the few ways to earn a living. The shepherds used the remote slopes as pasture for their animals before rural exodus led to the abandonment of the settlement in the twentieth century.
In addition to the historic ruins, the untouched nature attracts many visitors. The route is considered a moderate hike that is attractive to experienced tourists and locals. The combination of cultural discovery and sporting challenge makes the place a secret jewel away from the big tourist streams of the French coast.
